Who We Are
A collective of computational toxicology experts building the future of safety assessment.
Skills Hub
ToxComponents acts as a skills hub, bringing together experts in different aspects of computational toxicology. We all come together with the same passion: to create reusable digital toxicology components and drive new paradigms of safety assessment.
Our collective model means we can assemble the right expertise for each project, delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions without the overhead of a traditional consultancy.
Our People
Alex Cayley
Founder and Director
Alex is a computational toxicologist with extensive experience in developing and applying QSAR models, building AOP networks, and designing AI-assisted workflows for next-generation safety assessment. He specialises in mechanistic toxicology, weight of evidence frameworks, and creating digital tools that enable confident, defensible safety decisions using new approach methods.
Who We Work With
ToxComponents works with a network of partner organisations to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Ixelis.ai is an independent AI and molecular informatics company specialising in computational toxicology, predictive chemistry, chemical safety assessment, and knowledge-driven decision support. They combine artificial intelligence with cheminformatics to develop transparent, scientifically rigorous solutions for the life sciences. Based in Strasbourg (France) and Leeds (UK), they collaborate with academic, industrial, and regulatory partners to transform scientific knowledge into practical, trusted decision-support tools.
Artox Consulting provides quantitative drug safety consulting across the full spectrum of preclinical and clinical development. They specialise in statistical modelling, data analysis, and tool development; from potency estimation and benchmark dose modelling to dose-response analysis and cross-study data integration. Artox have extensive experience building and deploying QSAR and machine learning models, developing custom analytical tools, automated pipelines, and AI-powered workflows tailored to safety teams working in regulated environments.
